Our school day includes lunchtime provision. You can chose to provide your child with a packed lunch or we can supply them with a hot meal. Payment for their meal will be required, unless you are entitled to free school meals. Meals cost £2.50 per day and we ask parents to pay for these through our on-line payment system (details below).
Our current catering company is Caterlink. They endeavour to provide dishes that are not only popular with students but will also comply with healthy eating standards and guidelines. Your child will have brought a leaflet home with them containing important information.
If your child has food allergies or intolerances you MUST supply this information to us with evidence from a doctor or hospital.
It is parents’/carers’ responsibility to inform the caterers and school, but it must also be on medical evidence from a doctor or hospital.
You, as parents, chose the meals for your children in advance via a website,https://www.parentpay.com/ , You are able to order meals up to a term in advance, and this information is then automatically sent straight to our kitchen. Meals must be ordered by 7.30am in order for our kitchen to be able to cook the correct volume of food. Payment for school meals is also paid via this website.
All lunch payments are paid direct through the https://www.parentpay.com/.website. We no longer take dinner payments at school.
However, we would like to politely remind parents and carers that no debt occurs. In the case that a debt occurs, Parent Pay removes the facility to order any further meals until the debt is cleared. If this debt is not cleared, the ordering facility on Parent Pay may be disabled for your child, until the debt is cleared.
If you decide to provide a packed lunch, please read our packed lunch guidance and checklist, which is also available to download in the side panel. You can also find suggestions for healthy packed lunches here. Research shows that eating a healthy school lunch can positively affect children’s behaviour in the classroom.
As you will be aware there is increasing concern about rising rates of obesity and health-related problems in children. As a school, it is part of our responsibility to help children learn how to eat healthily and, as such, we encourage you to follow to the guidelines provided to help you make informed choices for your child’s packed lunch. Water is always provided at the dining tables, so providing an additional healthy drink is optional.
All children eat in the school’s dining room and we believe it is an important social learning experience and one they will enjoy!
